Acids and Bases Around the Home
+
This program familiarises students with the features of acids and bases, and discusses their physical and chemical properties. The pH scale is introduced with examples of strong and weak acids and bases and the concept of neutral substances is explored. The use of indicators to test the pH of acids and bases is explained, as well as showing the variety of indicators available and their specific uses. Students are shown how to make their own red cabbage indicator in the kitchen, and examples of acids and bases commonly found in the home are discussed. A description of neutralisation reactions and their products concludes the program.

Addition Polymers
Investigating Polymers Series
+
This program is one of a two part series on the preparation and properties of polymers. Concentrating specifically on the addition process, it will be invaluable in demonstrating this complex subject. Students are introduced to the concept of addition polymerization using polyethene from ethene. The program features many examples of the different types and properties of polymers, and includes definition of terms such as monomer and polymer, simple molecular models to demonstrate how the double bonds in the monomers break to form the polymer, and demonstration of how the alignment of the monomer is important for the successful formation of the polymer.

All About Forensic Science
+
Popular conceptions of the world of forensic science are often based on glossy, action-packed movies and TV drama series. This program takes the viewer on a sojourn into real-world forensic science and helps to debunk the TV stereotypes. Find out what forensic scientists do on a day-to-day basis. What is the real role they play in solving crimes and other incidents? How diverse is a typical forensic scientist?s job description? Do they do everything from gathering clues and examining all sorts of physical evidence to interviewing suspects and appearing in court, or does real forensic science require more of a specialist approach?

All About Motion
Displacement, Velocity & Acceleration
+
Everything moves. Even things that appear to be stationary are moving. Displacement, velocity and acceleration assist us in describing this movement by telling us the direction in which an object is traveling, how far it goes, how fast it travels and whether it slows down or speeds up. These basic ideas form the basis of many mechanics courses. This program will cover all you need to know to have thorough grounding in these fundamental concepts.

All About Muscles
+
Within the human body there are more than 600 individual muscles. Without them you could not walk, talk or smile. But more so your heart would not beat and you wouldn?t breathe. This program explores the main functions of our muscles as well as looking at the major muscles, their types and how we control them.

An Introduction to Biodiversity
+
The introductory phase introduces biodiversity to the students and emphasizes, with examples, the diversity and variability of living things. Once students are made aware of the impacts on biodiversity, they can then be presented with practical methods where individuals and community groups can work towards overcoming current impacts on biodiversity. By detailing positive examples, students are then encouraged to think for their future and the future of their community.
